Qualified General Nurse, Registered Sick children’s Nurse for 25 years.

My interest in health and well-being has developed over the past 25 years as a Registered Nurse and Registered Sick Children’s Nurse. Shortly after qualifying I realised that we are very often treating the impact of unhealthy living, keeping symptoms at bay. I became interested in ways to support our innate instinct to maintain our health at optimum levels.

After being involved in a relatively severe car accident I was left with physical neck and shoulder problems which needed treatment with medications. These treatments caused various other difficulties, including stomach problems and anaemia. After working with a variety of medical solutions for two years, I decided to take my fate into my own hands. I began to explore a range of Complementary therapies and found Aromatherapy really helped with my low mood. Using Essential Oils in massage also relieved pain and meant I needed less pain-killers. I fell in love with Yoga becuase it helped to put things back into perspective, as well as helping to re-gain strength in my arm and shoulder. As a busy mother I found the relaxation session became the highlight of my week!

After spending 12 years living and working in Australia, I returned with my husband and two sons to live in the UK. It was at this point in 1999 that I decided to train in Aromatherapy and Yoga. My ‘hobby’ grew and grew until eventually there was no time to work in my ‘proper’ job, and I retired from nursing in 2006 to persue Holistic therapies full-time.

I now run a thriving Holistic therapy business, utilising my experience in nursing as well as my qualifications in various massage and stress management techniques.

My love of learning and teaching continues. I enjoy running workshops and yoga days, working privately and for the local Adult Education Centre and local community groups delivering short courses in Stress Management, Aromatherapy, Reiki and Yoga.
